Hello, I’d like to submit my application to join Civilian as an eventual backup raider with rank Bench rank.
About Myself
My name is Glenn, I’m 26 years old and live just outside Seattle, WA where I work as a software developer. I’ve been playing WoW for about a year on this server and had messed around a little bit on a few other servers with other friends. I started playing on Bonechewer since I have quite a bit more friends on Bonechewer and most of them are in the guild Blade Dancers. They are mainly focused on PvP and I got tired of PvP after I had earned full PvP epics on my warlock. So I wanted to raid and see more of the content that Blizzard has to offer.
My Journey to Raiding and Why I think Civilian is For Me
I decided to start raiding around mid January this year and found a guild, Sad Panda Patrol, which was around my experience level of doing T4 content. They were a fun guild that I had a great time with when I actually was raiding the main reason why I left SPP was they didn’t raid often enough for me and as a whole they weren’t interested in other stuff PvE related outside of raid times. I actually want to raid 4 days a week or more if my schedule allows for it. I decided to start looking around. I started to do some research on the various raiding guilds of Bonechewer. Some of the times didn’t work for me and some of the posts I noticed on the various forums were showing that some of the people didn’t treat everyone with respect and dignity. And some started to have this growing elitist attitude which turned me off to them.
I did find Civilian in my search though. I read the guild charter and saw the code of conduct that states: “Outside the guild, we strive to make Civilian respected by both factions for our fairness, our trustworthiness, our maturity, and our unity.” I thought this was very cool! I also noticed that Civilian hosts open casual raids for the server. These are very rare attributes for high end raiding guilds to have and my respect grew for Civilian. So I signed up for a Mag run that was on monday. Cess was very nice and had great leadership for the raid. This was my first Mag run, and I needed to research it so I knew what to expect of me and how to handle things as they came up. Videos and WoWWiki help a lot. I was glad to see the in game explanation of the fight was done fast and people understood it. All the various assignments were made quickly with little hassle and people knew what it took to get the job done. I really appreciated the role that Neurotika played in getting all the warlocks on the same page for what we were supposed to do. The raid target macros that Baps and Cess used helped streamline the whole instance as much as possible. Now granted even though we had some funny times when Zedar and Steingard (I think it was them hehe) had accidently hit random buttons… and wiped usJ, it was pretty funny and overall I had a very enjoyable raiding experience and hope it continues.
Now comes the next step of talking to more of the Civilian members to get to know how the guild acts more personally with people rather than in raid situations and on the forums. I had talked to Revvo before the Mag run and he was very friendly. I had decided to later look up the warlock class officer and ask some more questions. So I sought after Chaosbane aka “MR Warlock” as his sig says. I talked to him about the current active status of Civilian and asked questions regarding where a new warlock would fit in. He informed of what I expected to hear of since I don’t really have the gear I would likely not see much of the higher end stuff for a while and would more than likely not be in all the raids. I understood this since Civilian has much better geared warlocks with much more raiding experience than myself. He also told me that I would be affliction if I were to even be going, which works out great for me since I have more experience playing an affliction lock over any other spec. We had a very pleasant conversation that answered a lot of my own questions so that I knew what I was asking to be a part of. I also let him know that I would need a few days to finish up with Sad Panda Patrol. I had already told them that I would be available for the Wednesday and Thursday raids so I wanted to make sure I could go to those.
I then began talking to the officers in Sad Panda Patrol to inform them of my position so that they were well aware of what I was planning to do so they could have all the info they needed before the raid started to decide who went and help them hand out drops in a guild progressive manner. I always thought it was a pretty jerk thing to do to take loot and run and I didn’t want it to seem that I was doing that.
My Schedule
I am available Mon-Wed, Fri after 5:30pm, Thu after 6:30pm, Saturday after 5:00pm, Sunday after 2:00pm.
Attunements
When I started thinking about raiding I wanted to have access all the heroics and Kara. So I worked on that before even applying to any raiding guild. After reading that I had more attunements to do for BT, I had completed the quest’s Akama’s Promise(I still need the NPC in SSC) and I have the Vials of Eternity in my quest log. I had completed the SSC attunement even though it’s not required anymore. I wanted to work on getting my Champion of the Naaru title so I have the Trial of the Naaru in my quest log as well.
I wasn’t even really playing before a year ago so I am not attuned fro MC, BWL, or Onyxia.
My reputations with various notable factions are as follows:

Cenarion Expedition: Exalted
Aldor: Exalted
Sha’tar: Exalted
Thrallmar: Honored
Lower City: Honored
Keepers of Time: Honored
The Violet Eye: Revered
Professions
I have Mining at 375 and Enchanting at 365. I decided to level up enchanting about a week ago since my old guild needed another disenchant for various 10 mans. Mining is my money maker really. But I also have an Engineering/Miner alt that I do more farming on since it’s more efficient to get money by farming motes while gathering another type.
Gear
I am currently trying to get as much Spell Hit as I can to reach the cap and then I plan on dropping Suppression talents in favor of other more versatile talents. I started raiding with PvP epics and have filled most slots with PvE gear. Now every slot is filled with as much Spell Hit and I have re-enchanted my PvP gear to help give me the biggest boost I can.

Talent Spec

I am more than willing to change my spec to whatever the guild needs. Currently I’m a support affliction warlock, 41/3/17
Add-ons
Whatever is needed for the raid and suggested to me that will help me perform my role more effectively. Currently I use Omen, DBM, Quartz, NECB, DoTimer, SmartBuff, Cartographer, and Auctioneer.
Forum Activity
Well a lot of times at work I’m waiting for something to finish building and I check up on forums and various web comics while I wait. Due to this I usually check my guild forums at least a few times a day. On some forums I even have email get sent to my phone so I can see updates as they happen :P

I am currently not in a guild and I have signed up for the TK casual raid on Saturday
For spell rotation I tend to do Curse and then follow up with spells based on cast time, starting with instant casts and working my way up to Shadow Bolts. Curse > Corruption > Immolate > Unstable Affliction > Shadow Bolt. After my first set of refreshes on all dots I sometimes use Siphon Life to assist the healers to not have to waste mana on me to heal me.
I have two alts: a shaman named Eisenefaust and a mage named Toddrohend
I hope this answers most of your questions you would have for me. Please feel free to contact me in forum or game as Shylugh.
